About James Hill (1930-2004)

James Hill was a renowned artist and illustrator, known for the influence he had on the advertising industry during the 1950’s to 1960’s. He was the protégé of the legendary American illustrator Norman Rockwell during the years Hill worked at "The Saturday Evening Post" in New York.

Kevin Sullivan fell in love with Hill’s work and sought him out to create the iconic poster images for the "Anne of Green Gables" films. Sullivan and Hill became good friends and collaborators over the next 20 years. Hill went on to produce several more "Anne of Green Gables" images as well as numerous graphics and original work for Sullivan Entertainment.

Disappointed

I was so excited to finally purchase this print. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The frame looked nothing like the example on line, even though a similar frame was promised. The one I received was smooth, wide, and brown. I love the print but it looks somewhat blurry and there is no noticeable texture except for a few bumps in the field of flowers. I had never seen a pvc print so I was not sure what I would receive. It truly is a picture printed on smooth pvc. I would have much preferred this same print as a water color but it’s unfortunately unavailable that way. I changed out the frame and it looks much better but I cannot recommend it due to the poor quality and price.

This framed print is amazing. It’s more beautiful in person. The quality is very good and it was shipped pretty fast. I would highly recommend this item.

Love this Painting.

I highly recommend this work of art. It is gorgeous, and classic and I have it hanging in my bedroom. It takes me back to my girlhood and the love of reading Anne of Green Gables. I plan to purchase more artwork from this site.
