I hesitated to buy the Blu-ray version thinking it wouldn't be worth it, but I'm so glad I did. The picture clarity and quality are excellent. Beautiful scenery. I love having all of the films together in one set. Highly recommend!
Also, Sullivan customer service is most excellent and TRULY cares about the customer.
I bought the cheapest 4 DVD set that was not HD. It had no sound in parts, and the sound quality was poor throughout. The picture was also fuzzy or under-pixilated in certain scenes. I returned it at my expense per instructions, and was told I would be given credit. I received credit for only the cost of the DVD set, but not my shipping costs (which totaled over $20 USD for international shipping). I ordered the blu-ray version, despite the cost, because it was the only version that did not have any technical complaints in the comment section. I had initially ordered from the Sullivan website to avoid the technical problems that seemed to plague some of the Amazon buyers, but, alas, was unable to avoid the quality issues the other buyers experienced. However, the blu-ray version has lived up to my expectations. My advice is to buy the blu-ray version initially and save yourself frustration, time, and ultimately, money.
Very nice image quality, especially if you have a big screen projector. I did notice in The Sequel that 3 music cues restart after a few seconds: Anne & Gilbert dancing, Anne ice skating, Anne dancing at hospital charity. Also, there are occasions of dialog being slightly behind or slightly ahead of the image -- but it takes viewing on a really big screen to notice (7.5 ft). Otherwise, the quality is far superior to the DVD collection purchased in 2008.
I was really excited to order this set, especially since I could have it shipped to Australia. Shipping via non-tracked international took two months but it’s finally here and I’m loving it. The picture quality is so much better than my old copies. I haven’t seen many special features as yet which I would have kind of expected given the price. My only real complaint is the quality of the packaging. They put two discs in the same side of the case which makes the top one fall out. It would have been much better to include the extra arm inside to hold two of the four discs. I might have to transfer it to a different case to keep everything safe. All said, I am happy with my purchase.
The picture quality is great. But for the high price I thought they could include separate cases for the cds or little extra stuff. It arrive faster than I thought.
