I have loved Sullivan Entertainment's Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea since I was a very little girl (it was first released the year....and month... I was born). I have waited patiently for the Blu Ray set. It is, of course, wonderful. I like that there is still "Intermission" but I don't have to flip the disc. The picture is beautiful! However this is why it gets 4 stars instead of 5: For the cost, I would recommend purchasing the Anne of Green Gables: Widescreen Restoration DVD Set instead.
I purchased that set for my sister several years ago now and it is still available. I don't feel that the Blu Rays are any better than the restored DVD version which is also beautiful and you can save $50!
If it weren't for this - high price with no real noticeable improvement from the restored DVD version - it would for sure get 5 stars. Anne is always 5 stars.
This four-part collector's edition of the Anne of Green Gables series is perfect. The improvements to the image quality are so well done, and the story (of course) is the best!
