Synopsis:

This DVD box set is the never-before-released first volume of "Wind at My Back" - all 13 episodes in a 4-disc set. The "Wind at My Back" series became the successor to the "Road to Avonlea" series for family entertainment. It chronicles the struggles of the Bailey family, which was torn apart by the harsh economic times of the Great Depression in the 1930's. After her husband dies, Honey Bailey finds herself homeless and penniless, and has to deal with the heartbreak of breaking up her family.

She leaves her children with their wealthy and controlling grandmother in the picturesque mining town of New Bedford while she struggles to someday reunite her family by seeking work in the city. The lives of the Baileys are the backdrop for stories of family bonds and the poignancy of love: sometimes funny and awkward, something haunting, sometimes full of pain.
